CommScope exec on company's role in technology revolution
By Ken Elkins - Senioir Staff Writer, Charlotte Business Journal
Burk Wyatt often recalls how watching his grandfather, Walter Hester, encouraged him to seek an engineering degree.
Wyatt, senior vice president and chief legal officer at Hickory-based CommScope (NASDAQ: COMM), says Grandpa Walter was a "techie" -- 40 years before it was fashionable to enjoy technology. He rebuilt cars, built handheld radios and could repair just about anything electronic.

State University with an electrical engineering degree that has served him well in his career at the technology company. CommScope provides the cable, connectors and other hardware to telecom companies around the world.
