CATAWBA COUNTY

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

PURSUANT TO

NORTH CAROLINA GENERAL STATUTE §158-7.1

LEGAL NOTICE

Catawba County proposes to appropriate and expend County funds for an economic development project pursuant to North Carolina General Statute §158-7.1. The Catawba County Board of Commissioners intends to consider entering into an economic development agreement with Project Sandstone. Catawba County believes the project will help stimulate and stabilize the local economy. The company will cause a minimum investment of $11,045,000 and the creation of a minimum of 15 new jobs by December 31, 2029. A contractual agreement has been developed to ensure performance.

The Catawba County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the County's proposed appropriation and expenditure of funds for this project on Monday, November 2, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Commisioners Meeting Room, Catawba County Justice Center, 100 Government Drive, Newton, NC.
