(High Point, NC)  -  Carolina Container is proudly celebrating 90 years of innovation, growth and quality service.  Since 1928, Carolina Container has been a customer-focused manufacturer of quality corrugated products and now are taking production, product value and customer service to the next level with unparalleled innovations in the packaging industry, changing perceptions of not only how a “box company” does business, but the process itself.  An old company with a new company mindset, Carolina Container looks back on its history in values and forward to its future in change.

HISTORY
Carolina Container was founded on August 8, 1928. With the help of local textile manufacturers, the first plant was built in High Point, NC to fill the need for an alternative way to package their products, other than by using wooden crates.  It was the first corrugated container plant in the Carolinas as well as the only one between Atlanta, GA and Richmond, VA.

Although the company is principally engaged in the conversion of paper into corrugated board and corrugated boxes, the object for which the company was formed included manufacturing and the sale of paper and wooden boxes and other useful goods made from either wood or paper or their substitutes.

The company opened for business in a 30,000 square feet building.  Today the High Point plant is 230,000 square feet.  In 1964, plans for a plant in Hickory, NC were refined to include not only a sheet plant, but also eventually adding a Corrugator.  The Hickory plant was completed in late 1965.

Today, the company operates eleven facilities in the following locations;  High Point, Hickory, Charlotte, Laurinburg, and Thomasville, NC; Prince George and Virginia Beach, VA; Ringgold, GA.  Each location specializes in one of the many services offered.  Each plant continues to modernize by state of the art machinery along with computerized production systems, the latest CAD design systems, computer sample tables and a digital design center.  The company continues to be an innovative leader in the corrugated industry.

In 2013, Carolina Container launched a new division, CaroCon Display & Packaging, which combines its display and packaging services under one united brand. CaroCon designs, manufactures, and distributes attention-grabbing packaging and displays for some of the nation’s most popular brands.

Carolina Container/CaroCon offers full circle packaging; from creative design, custom corrugated, high graphic displays, fulfillment, printing plates and cutting dies to packaging supplies; making Carolina Container A Total Packaging Solutions company.
