Bolstered by
a strong work ethic among decidedly skilled and highly educated
employees, Catawba County's workforce has proven to be adaptable to
the requirements of our most diversified industries. The North
Carolina Employment Security Commission is readily available to
assist companies with recruitment and screening at no cost to
employers. Catawba Valley Community College can provide
customized training for new and expanding industries.
The EDC Committee
of 100 recently commissioned The Pathfinders Group, an independent
analysis firm from Dallas, Texas, to do a labor analysis of the
laborshed serving Catawba County in order to determine our real
under- and un-employment circumstances. Armed with a true
understanding of our labor picture, we should be able to truly
quantify our true workforce availability to prospective employers .
