     ▪  Catawba County is located in the western part of the state of North Carolina

        in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, covering 405 square miles.

     ▪  The Hickory MSA estimated 2011 population was 366,359.

     ▪  Catawba County’s estimated 2011 population was 154,992.

     ▪  Catawba County’s large MSA population, mild climate, excellent interstate

        access and central location make it an ideal location for both industrial and

        retail development.

     ▪  Catawba County is located mid-way between Florida and New York, putting

        60% of the United States population within a day’s drive.

 

Catawba County boasts a high quality of life in addition to a thriving business climate. The Hickory metro was named the 10th “Best Place to Live and Raise a Family in the United States” according to Reader’s Digest.

 

Catawba County is located within one hour of Charlotte, the nation’s 19th largest city, and the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. The Appalachian resort areas of Boone and Blowing Rock are within an hour drive. The City of Asheville lies within an hour and a half to the west. Winston-Salem, Greensboro and the Piedmont Triad International Airport are an hour and a half to the east.
